What does effect the inscriptions & mods. - Guild Wars Forums

Hi everybody.

Im busy doing alot of high-end chest runs and stuff and when i decided to also ID the items i got a little bit carried away by daydreams and stuff and started staring into the nothingness...

Staring and daydreaming got me to think.. wich is rare in my case and asked myself the following question:

Does for example a Staff, with let's say req 9 Soulreaping and max stats be affected by inscriptions that carry a 15^50 bonus?

Well, when you attack with it, it will. but does it also affect spells that i cast?

So that when i cast a spell that inflicts 50 damage, be 57.5 (When i'm above 50% health)) when i have the "Strength and Honor" inscription on that staff?
Or another, when i cast Spiteful Spirit, does all the damage caused by this Hex also be 15% more when i have above 50% health?
Or Fire Storm, does the damage caused by this AoE spell also be buffed by the inscription?

I asked this question in my guild and alliance, and nobody had an answer that they knew it was correct.

15^50 inscriptions does not affect your spell's damage,
it does though affect the damage you do with the staff.
from wiki:

*2 This inscription increases base damage from attacks made with the weapon; it does not increase damage from other sources.

As Olle said, it only affects the base damage of the weapon, not any spells, etc.
